Billie Eilish Explains Why She Finds The ‘Barbie’ Monologue So ‘Upsetting’
Billie Eilish and Finneas brought their fashion A-game to the 2024 Critics Choice Awards. The brother-sister duo told Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans on the red carpet how they prepared for the awards ceremony. “My thought was corset. I’m preparing mentally and physically for the day of a corset and heels,” Billie said. “This is not a day that comes many times for me so when it comes it’s like okay, here we go. Being a girl today. I don’t usually wake up and like choose girl, but I did today,” she added. On the red-carpet Billie also read America Ferrera’s iconic “Barbie” monologue and revealed why it’s “upsetting.” “That monologue, it’s so upsetting,” she said. “Every time I hear any of it, I’m like ‘No I don’t want to hear this right now. I’m trying to enjoy my day. I don’t need America telling me the truth of life and being a woman. But I do like, we all do,” she added.
