Charlie Kirk Shot At Utah Event: Donald Trump, JD Vance, Gavin Newsom & More React

Turning Point USA Founder and conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10. “We are confirming that he was shot and we are praying for Charlie,” Aubrey Laitsch, Turning Point’s public relations manager, said in a statement to the Associated Press. The 31-year-old was about 20 minutes into his presentation at Utah Valley University when witnesses heard shots fired, a spokesperson for the school told NBC News. His security team then removed him from the premise and the courtyard was cleared, according to the school. Kirk’s condition was not immediately clear, but NBC News reports that the university confirmed a suspect is in custody. Moments after the shooting, multiple politicians spoke out including President Donald Trump, who wrote on Truth Social, “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM! “
