Conan O’Brien Takes Jab At Timothée Chalamet’s Ballet & Opera Comments In Oscars Monologue
Conan O’Brien is back on the Oscars stage. On Sunday, March 15, the comedian returned to host the 98th Academy Awards for the second year in a row. During the beginning of his monologue, O’Brien took a jab at Timothée Chalamet for his now-viral comments in which he claimed that “no one cares” anymore about ballet or opera. “Security is extremely tight tonight, just got to mention that, yeah, I’m told there’s concerns about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities,” O’Brien said as the camera panned to Chalamet who sat next to girlfriend Kylie Jenner, before adding, “They’re just mad you left out jazz.” Immediately after, O’Brien took a dig at Turning Point USA as he gave a nod to their alternative halftime show during the 2026 Super Bowl where Kid Rock took the stage. “Tonight could get political, and if that makes you uncomfortable, there’s an alternate Oscars being hosted by Kid Rock. It’s at the Dave & Buster’s down the street,” he quipped. Later in his remarks, the 62-year-old called attention to both Michael B. Jordan and Leonardo DiCaprio, as he made virtual seat fillers of Jordan and a meme of DiCaprio.
