How Katy Perry Helps Boyfriend Justin Trudeau’s Son Xavier, 18, With His Budding Music Career

Is Katy Perry taking a new protégé under her wing? The pop superstar has been lending career advice to boyfriend Justin Trudeau’s aspiring musician son, Xavier. The 18-year-old, who goes by Xav, spoke out on his bond with Katy during the April 8 episode of the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast and shared that the singer has been a great presence for him – and the former Canadian prime minister. “She’s super nice. She’s super down to Earth. She’s great,” Xav said. “I think that my dad’s happy, so that’s important.” Xav added that he and Katy have a solid enough connection where he feels comfortable not only sharing his work with her, but getting feedback. “When I’m really happy with a song [I] send it [to her],” he said. “She’s always happy to give me advice or tell me what I should change.” Katy and Justin went public with their relationship in October 2025, months after they were first linked when the politician was seen attending her Lifetimes Tour concert in Montreal that summer. The pair has since gone on to make multiple appearances together and pose for loved-up social media posts, which Xav said just comes with the territory for a family in the spotlight. “My life is so crazy sometimes. I’m like, ‘What is my life? What the hell?'” he smiled. “I just laugh. The reality of it is, it’s my life. What can I do? What can I change?”
