James Ransone’s Wife Pens Heartfelt Tribute After ‘The Wire’ Actor’s Death At Age 46

James Ransone’s loved ones are paying him tribute after his sudden death at age 46. The actor’s wife, Jamie McPhee, known as Skipper, penned a heartfelt post in his honor following the sad news. “I told you I have loved you 1000 times before and I know I will love you again. You told me – I need to be more like you and you need to be more like me – and you were so right,” Jamie wrote on Instagram, captioning a photo of Ransone holding her then-pregnant belly. “Thank you for giving me the greatest gifts – you, Jack and Violet. We are forever,” she added, sharing gratitude for the pair’s two young children. Ransone died by suicide on Dec. 19, according to online records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. He was known for his roles in the acclaimed HBO drama “The Wire” and in hit movies including “It: Chapter Two” and the “Sinister” franchise. He most recently appeared in “Black Phone 2” and the Peacock series “Poker Face.” Ransone’s Hollywood colleagues reacted to his loss across social media, with “Poker Face” star Natasha Lyonne, Julia Fox, Spike Lee, Madeline McGraw and more all sharing their sorrow and condolences.
