Access Hollywood confirmed Springer’s death on Thursday morning. According to his family, he died peacefully at his Chicago-area home surrounded by his loved ones after a “brief illness.” His fellow television personalities and friends Maury Povich and Steve Wilkos paid tribute to his memory in statements to Access Hollywood.
