John Mulaney is reflecting on the sudden passing of Matthew Perry. In a new interview with Variety on Tuesday, the stand-up comedian admitted that he related to the “Friends” star’s story. “Addiction is just a disaster,” John said in the candid conversation. Although the “SNL” alum didn’t know the “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” author personally, he has been open about own recovery journey, as was Matthew in his memoir. “Life is like a wobbly table at a restaurant and you pile all this s— on it, and it gets wobblier and wobblier and more unstable. Then drugs just kick the f—ing legs out from under the table. I really identified with his story. I’m thinking about him a lot.” John told the outlet.
