K-pop Star Seungri Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison For Prostitution Case

Former K-pop star Seungri was sentenced to three years in prison on Thursday after facing charges in a prostitution case. According to the Associated Press, the former “Big Bang” boy band member was indicted by a Korean military court in January 2020 on multiple charges including providing prostitutes for foreign businessmen, embezzling funds from a nightclub he ran in Seoul and violating laws which prohibit overseas gambling. He was also reportedly fined 1.5 billion won, roughly $989 thousand U.S. dollars, along with the jail time.
