Kate Hudson Recalls ‘Laughing’ & ‘Endlessly’ Talking About Love With Matthew Perry Before His Death

Kate Hudson is honoring Matthew Perry, just days after his death. On Monday, the “Almost Famous” actress shared a photo of the pair at the MTV Movie Awards in 2004 on her Instagram stories. “We played tennis and played more tennis, talked endlessly about trials and tribulations of love and then would talk some more as we would laugh our asses off and then laughed some more,” she gushed. “I share the same sadness with all our film and tv community who shared time with Matthew. As you can see, to know him was to adore him. I send my love and condolences to his family and his work families. We love you Matthew.” The 54-year-old’s ex-fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, broke her silence on his shocking death too. On Monday, the producer took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute to the “Friends” star, who she was in a relationship with from 2018 to 2021. “He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented,” she wrote. The 32-year-old also got candid about his addiction which he spoke openly about in his recent memoir. “I obviously knew that man in a very different way, too. While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known. No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Al Anon, an invaluable resource for those who love someone struggling with this destructive disease. Matty, I feel relief that you are at peace.” Matthew died on Oct. 28 by an apparent drowning at his home in Los Angeles. An official cause of death has not been released.
