Kelly Clarkson says she thought “American Idol” was a joke before winning season one! While chatting with Kevin Hart on his new Peacock series, “Hart to Heart” the pop singer said, “We were there for that paycheck that AFTRA or SAG gives you to like pay for some bills. Nobody knew that anything would come to fruition. That’s what everyone hopes but that doesn’t usually happen.” She revealed that she is thankful for her rapid rise to fame and says it prevented people from drilling her on who she should be.
