Lindsey Vonn In ‘Stable Condition’ After Sustaining Injury In Scary Olympic Crash
The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team is providing an update on Lindsey Vonn after her terrifying crash during the women’s downhill final at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Hours after the gold medalist was airlifted from the mountain on Sunday, Feb. 8, the U.S. Ski Team took to social media to share how she was recovering, writing, “Update: Lindsey Vonn sustained an injury, but is in stable condition and in good hands with a team of American and Italian physicians.” The Olympian’s crash occurred just 13 seconds into the downhill final. Vonn had also been skiing in a brace after she ruptured the ACL in her left knee days ago at Switzerland’s Crans-Montana World Cup Race. “This is a very difficult outcome one week before the Olympics…but if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s a comeback. My Olympic dream is not over,” she wrote in part on Instagram at the time. The Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics are airing on NBC and Peacock through Feb. 22.
