Malia & Sasha Obama Make Rare Public Appearance at Obama Presidential Center Opening

Malia Obama and Sasha Obama are stepping out to support their parents! On Thursday, June 18, the sisters made a rare public appearance at the star-studded grand opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Malia and Sasha joined their parents, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, onstage. Former Presidents Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, and George Bush were also in attendance, seated near the Obamas, as were former First Ladies Jill Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush. President Trump was not invited to the event, according to Obama Foundation’s CEO Valerie Jarrett, though she noted he is welcome to visit the campus, per NBC News. The grand ceremony also included a number performances by artists, including Christina Augilera, John Legend and Jennifer Hudson. The Obama Presidential Center opens to the public on Juneteenth.
