Mariah Carey On Celebrating ‘Emancipation Of Mimi’s’ 20th Anniversary With AMAs Performance Special
Mariah Carey will take the stage for a special performance in honor of the 50th anniversary of the American Music Awards. The pop diva, who is also celebrating 20 years of her album “The Emancipation of Mimi,” will sing a medley of hits from the album. “It’s extremely special. I feel like I’m part of the AMA family,” the singer tells Access Hollywood ahead of the anniversary special. Mariah has won 10 AMAs throughout her career. The “We Belong Together” singer is also looking ahead to her favorite holiday. The queen of Christmas is set to go on tour and will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of her album “Merry Christmas.” The American Music Awards 50th anniversary special will air on Sunday, Oct. 6, on CBS.
