Pregnant News Anchor Stays On Air For 3 Hours In Active Labor After Water Breaks
A pregnant news anchor in Albany, N.Y., completed a three-hour broadcast while in active labor after her water broke just before the show began. Oliva Jaquith and her also pregnant co-anchor Julia Dunn announced to viewers on May 21 that Olivia’s water broke that morning, but Oliva insisted that she could make it through the broadcast. “I’d rather be at work than at the hospital,” she said. Subtle baby references were made throughout the show, and the team added a sweet chyron to support the very-soon-to-be new mom: “Here Comes Baby P, Good Luck Olivia: You Rock We Love You.”
