Steve Carell Reacts To Reuniting with Will Ferrell For ‘Despicable Me 4’: ‘I Love Him So Much’

Steve Carell is back as ‘Gru’ in “Despicable Me 4” – and is bringing some famous friends to join the franchise! Speaking with Access Hollywood at the premiere of “Despicable Me 4” on June 9 in New York City, the iconic “Office” actor dished on how similar his character is to him as a real-life dad. “I’m exactly ‘Gru.’ That’s why they cast me. I’m the same person. I’m sort of despicable, but slightly lovable at the same time.” The “Crazy, Stupid, Love” star also spoke about reuniting with his good friend and former “Anchorman” costar, Will Ferrell who joined the beloved, animated franchise, telling Access, “I love him so much. He’s the funniest and the most lovely person ever. I would do any job anywhere with him.” Plus, the Academy Award nominee reminisced on memories from “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” which hits its 20-year milestone in July. “Every day was just a laugh out loud funny moment. The hard part with him is not cracking up during the scene because he’s always trying different things and he would kind of do that almost to be mean to people, I think.” “Despicable Me 4” hits theaters July 3.
