‘The Gabby Petito Story’: Thora Birch Reacts To Concerns It’s Too Soon For Lifetime Movie

Thora Birch directs and stars as in the new Lifetime movie “The Gabby Petito Story,” which is based on the 2021 disappearance and death of the travel vlogger. Some have criticized the film, saying it’s too soon for the project, and Thora tells Access Hollywood she understands those concerns. “When I hear that criticism brought up, I always just wind up asking myself, ‘Well, when are we supposed to tell her story? When are we supposed to say her name and honor her life?'” she said. “If there’s one individual that maybe sees a little bit of their own life or the life of a loved one, and then they make a change because of that, then this will be a success,” Thora added. “The Gabby Petito Story” premieres Oct. 1 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
