Vanessa Bryant Awarded $16M From Los Angeles County In Kobe Bryant Crash Photos Trial

Los Angeles County has been ordered to pay Vanessa Bryant and co-plaintiff Chris Chester, $31 million in damages over leaked photos of the January 2020 helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant and seven others. A Los Angeles jury reached the verdict on Wednesday after deliberating for about four and a half hours. According to NBC News, they unanimously agreed with Bryant, Chester and their attorneys that the LA County sheriff’s deputies and firefighters invaded their privacy and brought emotional distress by taking and sharing photos from the crash.
