Anna Nicole Smith’s Daughter Dannielynn Tears Up Over Wearing Mom’s Dress 21 Years Later

Dannielynn Birkhead’s outfit at the Barnstable Brown Gala on May 2 was extremely sentimental. The 18-year-old wore her late mom, Anna Nicole Smith’s dress to the event taking place during the Kentucky Derby weekend. Dannielynn teared up as she told Access Hollywood’s digital guest correspondent Lauren Herbert how meaningful it is to wear the dress. “I can’t know my mom sadly, and this is one of the only reasons and ways I can. This is the closest I’ll ever be getting to a hug from her so I’ve been on and off tears the whole day,” she emotionally told Access as she hugged her dad. In fact, the black dress is what Anna Nicole was wearing when she met Larry Birkhead at the Barnstable Brown Gala. “Just to see her and have it be a full circle moment for me is special,” he told Access. The Kentucky Derby airs live May 3 at 2:30 PM ET on NBC and will stream on Peacock.
