‘Black Panther’ Director Ryan Coogler Was Mistaken For A Bank Robber: ‘Should Never Have Happened’
Ryan Coogler is speaking out after a January incident where he was mistaken for a bank robber in Atlanta. The “Black Panther” director was taken out of a local Bank of America in handcuffs after trying to withdraw money from his account, according to an Atlanta Police Department incident report obtained by NBC News. Coogler told NBC News in a statement, “This situation should never have happened. However, Bank of America worked with me and addressed it to my satisfaction and we have moved on.”
