Diddy Reveals He Pays Sting $5,000 A Day For Using Hit Song Sample Without Permission

Every breath Diddy takes, he’s paying royalties to Sting! The hip-hop mogul revealed that he forks over a jaw-dropping amount of money to the British singer for using one of his former band’s biggest hits in the 1997 smash “I’ll Be Missing You.” A 2018 clip resurfaced this week in which Sting tells “The Breakfast Club” that he receives $2,000 a day for Diddy’s sample of The Police’s “Every Breath You Take,” and Diddy took to Twitter to correct his fellow music superstar – revealing that he actually gives him more than twice that amount.
