Donald Trump Calls CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell ‘Disgraceful’ For Asking About Alleged Gunman’s Note

President Donald Trump called CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell “a disgrace” during a “60 Minutes” interview Sunday after she read out parts of the alleged gunman from the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner’s note he sent to family members before the attack, which was provided to NBC News by a senior White House official. In the interview, O’Donnell asks Trump what his reaction to the suspect, identified by a federal official familiar with the case as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, saying, “I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.” “Well, I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you’re… horrible people. Horrible people. Yeah, he did write that. I’m not a rapist. I didn’t rape anybody,” Trump replied, with O’Donnell interjecting and asking, “Oh, do you think he was referring to you?” Trump continued to express his frustration to O’Donnell as he forcefully said he is “not a pedophile” while the CBS News journalist maintained it was the alleged gunman’s words. He then added, “You shouldn’t be reading that on “60 Minutes” you’re a disgrace. But go ahead, let’s finish the interview. You’re disgraceful.” On Saturday, April 25, Allen, who reportedly displayed anti-Trump sentiments in his writings sent to family members according to senior administration officials, allegedly opened fire outside the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner before being tackled to the ground by law enforcement and subdued. The engineer and teacher is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday, April 27.
