Kim Kardashian Explains Why She Shared Vacation Photos After Grandmother MJ’s Death

Kim Kardashian is setting the record straight on a vacation post that went live on Instagram moments after it was revealed her grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Campbell, had died. The 45-year-old SKIMS founder shared a carousel on July 16 which showed her and her family enjoying a getaway, captioning the post, “Lake Life.” The photos went live around the same time her mom, Kris Jenner, announced her mother’s death on Instagram, which resulted in many fans accusing Kim of being insensitive. A few hours after the post went live, Kim weighed in, clarifying the timing of the post in the comments. “This post was scheduled a few days ago before we lost MJ, so its timing came right alongside her passing,” Kim wrote. “I’ve been by my mom and grandma’s side this past week, and my heart is completely with my family right now. We love and miss her so deeply, and in the days ahead, we’ll be focusing on celebrating her beautiful life.” Kris’ post honored MJ with a heartfelt tribute that read in part, “Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ…There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family.”
