Jared Leto Climbs To Top Of The Empire State Building In Historic Moment
Jared Leto hasn’t made it to Mars, but he did make it to the top of New York City’s Empire State Building! The actor, 51, climbed part of the iconic skyscraper on Nov. 9, sharing with NBC’s Today what the journey was like for him. “I was more excited than nervous to tell you the truth. But I have to be honest, it was very, very hard. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be,” he said. Jared chose to do the historical task because it was on his bucket list and to promote Thirty Seconds To Mars’ 2024 world tour. “It’s incredible. To watch the sun rise overlooking the city that’s meant so much to me. Ever since I was a kid, New York stood for the place that you went to make your dreams come true. And as a young kid, I wanted to be an artist, and New York was the place that you came to be an artist. And the Empire State Building was always that symbol for me,” he added. The musician is the first person to legally climb to the top of the Empire State Building, officials told Today.
