King Charles Visits Princess Kate Middleton Before His Own Surgery At The Same Hospital
The Princess of Wales received a royal visit from her father-in-law as she recovers from abdominal surgery. King Charles reportedly spent time with Kate Middleton in the hospital on Jan. 26 ahead of his own scheduled procedure at the same facility. The future queen consort has been on the mend since undergoing her operation earlier in the month. Kensington Palace previously confirmed that the princess was expected to recuperate at the London Clinic for up to two weeks before returning home. She has postponed public appearances until at least Easter. The news came shortly before King Charles was announced to be undergoing a scheduled corrective treatment for an enlarged prostate. He and Queen Camilla were photographed arriving at the hospital the morning of his surgery. The King is reportedly expected to stay for two nights and Camilla was spotted smiling for photographers as she exited the facility solo. Buckingham Palace issued a statement on behalf of the monarch, confirming that he had been admitted for his scheduled surgery and wanted to “thank all those who have sent their good wishes over the past week and is delighted to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness.”
