Michael Keaton Tearfully Dedicates 2022 SAG Award To Nephew Who Died From Drugs: ‘It Hurts’

Michael Keaton broke down in tears at the 2022 SAG Awards while accepting the honor for Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series on Sunday. The 70-year-old won for portraying Samuel Finnix, a doctor who becomes involved in a Big Pharma secret in the Hulu drama “Dopesick.” His role in the mini-series seemed to hit close to home for Michael, as he got choked up while dedicating his award to his nephew whom he emotionally revealed died from drugs. “But mostly, given the subject manner, this is for my nephew, Michael, and my sister, Pam. I lost Michael to drugs, and it hurts. This is for my sister Pam,” he said. His touching moment moved several audience members, including Vanessa Hudgens who was seen tearing up.
