Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Gets Candid On ‘Jersey Shore’ Drug Use: ‘It Kept Escalating’
The world became fascinated by the “Jersey Shore” cast when the MTV reality show premiered 14 years ago. Now, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is opening up about his time on the show in his candid new memoir “Reality Check: Making the Best of The Situation – How I Overcame Addiction, Loss, and Prison.” Mike told Access Daily’s Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover about the book, including its revelations about his drug use on the series. “[The producers] would delicately sit me down and say, ‘Do you need help? We support you.’ And I wasn’t ready to reveal it to the world. I just kept doing this crazy behavior, and it kept escalating, kept escalating, until about Season No. 5. I mean, I was smuggling drugs on every season,” he said. Mike also reflected on his reality TV journey and his romantic journey with now-wife Lauren Sorrentino, who is expecting their third child. Plus, Mike revealed why he’s thinking about expanding their family after baby No. 3 arrives. “Reality Check: Making the Best of The Situation – How I Overcame Addiction, Loss, and Prison” is out now.
