Olympic Speed Skater Erin Jackson ‘Cried Instantly’ After Her Historic Win: ‘An Incredible Moment’
Erin Jackson took gold in the women’s 500 meter speed skating at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, becoming the first Black woman to medal in the sport. “I think I cried instantly. First, I jumped up and hugged my coach. … It was an incredible moment,” she told Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans. Erin also reflected on teammate Brittany Bowe’s “incredible” sacrifice of initially giving up her spot in the race for her. She also revealed which stars have shared supportive messages for her following her victory!
