‘Stranger Things’ Creators Break Down S5 Most-Talked About Moments
SPOILERS AHEAD! Access Hollywood spoke to “Stranger Things” creators/showrunners Ross and Matt Duffer about the final season of the hit Netflix show. One of the pivotal moments of season 5 features Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp coming out as gay in one of the final two episodes of the sci-fi series. The Duffer brothers explained why they waited so long for Will to have this moment in the series, Matt said, “It’s been a scene that we’ve been planning for a long time. Initially, we were going to have it in season 4 and it just, by the time we got to, I think it was the penultimate episode of season 4 or it was going to be the final episode, it just felt like we hadn’t earned the moment with Will and it didn’t feel right.” Adding, “So we moved it to this final season. So much of the season and Will’s arc in particular was building to this moment and we knew in order for him to ultimately have a chance to defeat Vecna, help his friends defeat Vecna he had to have this moment.” Matt continued, “It was important to give Noah that scene and he gives such a tremendous truthful take.” “Stranger Things” season 5 volume 1, 2 and 3 are available for streaming on Netflix.
