Swimmer Anita Alvarez Breaks Her Silence After Fainting In Pool: ‘It All Happened Really Fast’
U.S. Swimmer Anita Alvarez is speaking out after being rescued by her coach when she fainted in the pool at the FINA World Aquatic Championships in Hungary. In an exclusive interview with NBC Nightly News, the 25-year-old broke her silence about the harrowing moment. “Felt numbness in my fingers, honestly everything went black and that was kind of it,” she said. She credited her coach, Andrea Fuentes, who jumped in and pulled her out of the water, for saving her. “Just so grateful,” she added.
