Travis Kelce is defending his viral beer-chugging moment that happened during his date night with Taylor Swift at the Cleveland Cavaliers versus New York Knicks game. The Ohio native was sitting courtside with his fiancée at the NBA game on May 23 when he proudly chugged a can of beer which got a massive roar from the crowd and even made Taylor giggle. But on the May 27 episode of the “New Heights” podcast, his brother and co-host Jason Kelce called out the moment, joking it wasn’t classy. “You f—ing classless. You’re a role model, Travis!” Jason joked. “You cannot be out there chugging beers in public!” But, Travis then hilariously doubled down on his decision to chug the beer, explaining why it was appropriate for the occasion. “It was a classy chug, Jason! I didn’t spill one drop,” he said. “I didn’t crush the can. I’m on the hardwood floor at an NBA game. It could have got messy. It was a smooth, classy chug to get the people going,” he added. The Cavs ended up losing that game to the Knicks, who are now heading to the NBA finals for the first time since 1999, but even though things didn’t work out for his team, Travis is still happy he was able to bring Taylor to a city he loves.
