Lindsey Vonn Gives Injury Update From Hospital Bed Days After Scary 2026 Winter Olympics Ski Crash
Lindsey Vonn is on the mend following her terrifying crash during the women’s downhill final at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. The 41-year-old Olympic gold medalist shared a video from the hospital as she recovers from multiple surgeries, telling fans that she is finally starting to feel like herself. As for what’s next, Lindsey says she has one more surgery to go before she can return to the United States. “I have a long, long way to go,” she said. “Tomorrow I’ll have another surgery and hopefully that goes well and then I can potentially leave and go back home at which point I will need another surgery. Still don’t know exactly what that entails yet some better imaging,” she added. Lindsey crashed 13 seconds into the downhill ski final on Feb. 8, where she was airlifted from the mountain and taken to a hospital. Prior to that crash she had been skiing in a brace after she ruptured the ACL in her left knee on Jan. 31 at Switzerland’s Crans-Montana World Cup Race, from where she was also airlifted after her crash. The 41-year-old had come out of retirement to compete in the 2026 Winter Games.
