The Obama family is mourning a difficult loss. Michelle Obama announced on May 31 that her mother Marian Robinson had passed away peacefully that morning at the age of 86. The Former First Lady wrote on Instagram, “My mom Marian Robinson was my rock, always there for whatever I needed. She was the same steady backstop for our entire family, and we are heartbroken to share she passed away today.” She went on to share a lengthy and touching joint tribute to Marian from her, Barack, their daughters Malia and Sasha, her brother Craig and his entire family.
